To remove allergens and other pollutants from the air, some of the ionization units can be placed within the HVAC system. Others are very small and are designed to treat a specific square footage and are energy efficient and with these smaller units operating on less than one watt of energy.
There are also standalone types of ionization units that can be placed on a tabletop, desk or other areas to provide greater coverage in a small area, yet portable enough as well as being discrete and very quiet. These portable units are often used when a home or office doesn’t have a central air conditioner that can have ionization units mounted internally.

Usually, air in a city will have less than 80 percent of the required ion levels found in fresh, unpolluted air.
